If you didn’t know, I’ve been involved with the Burton Swans art trail this year, with a swan statue I painted proudly on display outside the Burton-on-Trent Town Hall since August 18th.
The art trail has been a fantastic success, I’ve been watching videos of people exploring the art trail, scrolling through all the selfies and reading all the messages on the Burton Swans facebook page. I couldn’t think of a better way to cap off the trail with the swans being auctioned off for charity. As of October 18th it will be taken off display, and will put up for auction, with all the proceedings going to the Burton YMCA.
The auction will include a few additional pieces of work from the other Swan artists, including my “Flowing Waterfall” piece some of you may recognise.
So if you’d like to own one of the twenty five swans that were on display all around Burton and contribute to a really great charity, now is your opportunity!
The auction will be ran by Winterton Auctioneers on October 26th. It’s an online auction but the whole thing will be livestreamed and you can sign up as an interested party beforehand if you would like to bid.
You can find the auction catalogue here.
It’s all very exciting and I’m proud to be a part of it. A little ray of sunshine that 2020 needed.
